Loot Crate’s ‘The Verse’ proves Firefly love is very alive
After signing up for a month of Loot Crate to see what all the noise was about (it was hard to say no to random geek goodness in the mail each month), a nice cherry on top of my already-shipped September crate was an unexpected fan-made Firefly short film the company created. This month’s themed Galactic crate promised bits and pieces from icons like Star Trek, Star Wars, and Firefly, and the folks over at Loot Crate felt the urge to indulge their Browncoat fantasies by putting together a short titled “The Verse.” After seeing it pass by in a few e-mails, I finally decided to give “The Verse” a watch. If you’re into fan-made expanded universes, particularly ones that capture the look and feel of the original, you’ll get a kick out of this.

There are moments in there that could have been pulled straight from the TV show, so props go out to the Loot Crate crew for giving us a glimpse of another ship on a new adventure in The Verse.
