Daniel Radcliffe dabbles in darkness in first Horns trailer

The Boy Who Lived has come a long way since his days at Hogwarts, and seeing Daniel Radcliffe dabbling in the dark arts in the first trailer for Horns is oddly satisfying. Director Alexandre Aja looks to have crafted a comically-infused tale of murky murder, so it’s great to hear so many different outlets pleased with what they’ve seen regarding the movie at this year’s Comic-Con. One thing’s for sure, Horns is on my must-watch list now that I’ve seen more than a screenshot or behind the scenes image.

Watch the first full-length trailer for Horns, and read a plot synopsis for the film, after the jump.

Looks great, right? With Aja’s history of working in the horror/thriller genre (P2, High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes), and his unashamedly straightforward tendencies to revel in guilty pleasures (Piranha 3D), Horns could make for a solid mix of the two mindsets. Fingers crossed it’s as enjoyable as it looks.

Here’s a plot synopsis for Horns:

Ignatius William Perrish wakes up bleary and confused after a night of drinking and “doing terrible things” to find he has grown horns. In addition to being horribly unsightly, these inflamed protuberances give Ig an equally ugly power–if he thinks hard enough, he can make people admit things (intimate, embarrassing, I-can’t-believe-you-just-said-that details). This bizarre affliction is of particular use to Ig, who is still grieving over the murder of his childhood sweetheart (a grisly act the entire town, including his family, believes he committed).

Horns stars Daniel Radcliffe, Juno Temple, Heather Graham, Joe Anderson, and David Morse. It’s opening up in theaters in the US on Halloween.
