Knock Knock trailer sees two crazy women toying with Keanu Reeves

In what’s bound to be seen as either a bad man getting his comeuppance or two crazy women playing a dirty game, the first full-length trailer for Knock Knock is full of sexual betrayal and psychotic tension. Keanu Reeves is a married man who gets himself into a situation most married men both dread and secretly dream about, and what unfolds after a night of debauchery quickly becomes a nightmare almost no man deserves. Seriously, talk about a bait-and-switch mindf*ck on par with something like Funny Games. No one wins when these girls come knocking, soaking wet, looking for trouble.

Watch the full-length trailer for Knock Knock (possibly NSFW due to strongly implied sexual content), and read a plot synopsis for the film, after the jump.

Aside from having your member removed by a spiteful significant other while you sleep, it’s hard to imagine a worse torture than being at the mercy of two insane women hell-bent on teaching you a lesson. The trailer hints pretty heavily at a no-win situation for whoever the two sink their claws into, and there’s even a moment where it looks like Reeves (or someone) is being rolled into a grave. Again, very strong Funny Games vibes going on here, and the movie is guaranteed to create camps within its audience. Is it a message about female empowerment? Is it a worst-case-scenario lesson about cheating? Is it a guilty pleasure soft-core torture film? Or, do b*tches simply be crazy? The folks over at Vulture seemed to dig the movie for what it is after seeing it at Sundance earlier this year, so that’s at least a promising stamp of approval.

If you’re looking for a little more context, here’s a lengthy plot synopsis for Knock Knock:

Evan Webber is living the dream. Just look at his beautiful, successful wife, his two wonderful kids, and his truly stunning house—which he designed himself. Of course he did. Things are going so well, Evan doesn’t even mind spending Father’s Day alone while the rest of his family heads out for a beach weekend. And then there’s a knock on the door.

The two young women standing on Evan’s doorstep are where Evan’s dream takes a nightmarish turn. Given co-writer/director Eli Roth’s well-deserved reputation for creating cinematic discomfort, it should come as no surprise what happens next: Things get weird, and then dark, and then much, much, much darker. But this is no splatter film, so Roth keeps the horror nice and psychological as Evan’s life—and house—get ripped apart, piece by beautiful piece.

Knock Knock stars Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo, Ana de Armas, and Colleen Camp. The film was directed by modern horror movie staple Eli Roth, and while it’s not yet secured a US release date, you can check it out when it hits theaters in the UK on June 26, 2015.
