The Michael Bay produced and Jonathan Liebesman directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film (currently titled Ninja Turtles) has found its final three turtles. The film seems to be picking up speed, and casting for the turtles is just the beginning.
Who is joining Alan Ritchson (Blue Mountain State, Smallville), recently cast as Raphael, to fill the CG shells of Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo? Find out after the jump!
Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, and Pete Ploszek are joining the already-cast Alan Ritchson to round out the cast of turtles for the upcoming Ninja Turtles incarnation. Each actor will wear the balls behind the turtle wax for motion-capture Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael, but no official design for the heroes in a half shell has been revealed yet.
The below image made the rounds way back in April of 2010 and was thought to be the new design for the turtles, but was later found to be a project done by artist Eric Zapata for Tom Savini’s FX Program. What do you think?
At one point Ninja Turtles was aiming toward an alien-centric origin story for the turtles themselves, but those rumors were soon squashed. Now all we know is filming recently took to a ski resort, and Megan Fox has been cast as April O’Neil.
With all four turtles cast its only a matter of time before we get a voice for Splinter, a possible face (or at least set of eyes) for Shredder, and most likely some random entries from the list of Ninja Turtles villains. My vote goes to Ken Watanabe for Shredder, and could you imagine Liam Neeson spilling some wise words out of Splinter? Yes, please!
