THE DISASTER ARTIST trailer promises a self-aware meta mockumentary of The Room

disaster artist movie trailer 2017

The Disaster Artist trailers put Tommy Wiseau front and center again

No one knew what to expect when The Disaster Artist was first announced. Until the new trailer for the movie dropped, wondering why a James Franco-starring meta mockumentary film about the making of the infamous movie The Room needed to exist would be a natural response. Having seen the trailer, I’m joining the online opinion that The Disaster Artist could be something special. Not as laugh-out-loud upsettingly terrible as The Room special, but terribly laugh-out-loud upsetting in an ironic sort of way. Franco’s portrayal of the cartoonish Tommy Wiseau seems on-point, and the humor appears to be a self-deprecating thread holding together a more heartfelt tale of dreams, triumphs, and disasters.

If you’re still skeptical, check out the new trailer after the jump.

THE LITTLE HOURS trailers dress funny women in nun costumes and let them loose

the little hours movie trailer 2017

The Little Hours trailers feature foul-mouthed naughty nuns

The Little Hours looks like a chance for some funny women to get a little unhinged and raunchy while playing dress-up as nuns. Sound like fun? It could be, but the movie could also be a bit too much for some people. If the first red band trailer is any indication, these nuns aren’t holding back, and we’re in for screaming, swearing, sexing, and general nunnery shenanigans. The cast is a blend of comedy favorites, and it’s fun to see these performers together in what may easily be dismissed as a raunchy comedy period piece akin to Your Highness. I’m optimistic, but this kind of humor is hit or miss most times. The fine line between hilariously absurd and offensive for the sake of being offensive is a tough one to walk. That said, there’s talent here who have been successfully swimming in that strange pool for quite some time, and it’s been working for them. Naughty nuns seems like a logical stepping stone.

Watch a few trailers for The Little Hours, read a plot synopsis, and check out a handful of posters for the movie after the jump.

22 JUMP STREET green and red-band trailers

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill go to college for 22 Jump Street

The remake of 21 Jump Street was unexpectedly fun and very entertaining. Plus, it made a lot of money. That’s the one component necessary these days needed to justify a sequel, so 22 Jump Street reunites Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill for more misadventures and hijinks. The directing duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the pair responsible for bringing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and The LEGO Movie to the big screen, are also back behind the camera. If the trailers are any indication, the film looks like a laugh-incuding good time.

Watch both the tamed down green-band and the raunchy red-band trailers for 22 Jump Street after the jump.
