First JUSTICE LEAGUE full-length trailer assembles the team and pours on the action

justice league movie trailer 2017

Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie gets its first full-length trailer

The first official Justice League trailer has finally arrived, and it’s something. Tonally, things feel askew as the trailer begins, but for the most part the action-heavy preview manages to hype the film successfully. Technically this is the first full-length preview for Justice League, but fans of the DC ensemble and attendees of Comic Con (and soon after the rest of the world) were shown footage way back in July 2016, so it’s about time a proper trailer surfaced to help save the floundering franchise (as most of the new DCU films have subtly promised to do) that’s trying to do battle with Marvel’s behemoth. Again, personally, the trailer’s introduction seemed off, but I have a lot of fun once that Zack Snyder action is on full display. Here’s hoping the movie is an enjoyable ride.

Brand new GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 trailer comes in hot and vibrant

guardians of the galaxy vol 2 movie trailer 2

Baby Groot is super cute in new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer

I think it’s safe to say that Baby Groot will officially steal the show come May when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters. That said, every member of the team stands out in their own way, and it looks like we’ll be seeing a familiar face or two officially join the ranks this time around (looking at you Nebula and Yondu). Plus, a handful of new players are on screen for the first time (Pom Klementieff’s Mantis, Kurt Russell’s Ego), and we’re bound to see more of them as the Guardians of the Galaxy cross paths with The Avengers in the near future. Until then, get hyped and crack a smile, because the brand new trailer for Vol. 2 is here and kicks ass.

Watch Star-Lord and crew do their thing in the new trailer and two new posters for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 after the jump.

First DUNKIRK full-length trailer flies in to preview Christopher Nolan’s latest

Dunkirk trailer sets the stage for Christopher Nolan’s new movie

Dunkirk is director Christopher Nolan‘s highly anticipated follow-up to Interstellar, and the first full-length trailer teases a much more grounded sort of epic. While the historical elements and true story retelling aren’t necessarily Nolan’s bag, he attempts to bring his gravitas to a much smaller stage by telling the story from the beach at Dunkirk. The trailer doesn’t give away much, but I was surprised to see Tom Hardy (although I shouldn’t have been given he’s worked with Nolan before; I just didn’t know he was in this one for some reason). Nolan has some heavy hitters under his belt already, but one always hopes a director’s newest film will be their best work yet. Here’s hoping Dunkirk doesn’t suffer from the true story anchor and instead gives the director some solid ground to build his movie around.

SILENCE trailer pulls the curtain back from Martin Scorsese’s upcoming Asiatic epic

Martin Scorsese converts us with first Silence trailer

Martin Scorsese‘s passion project Silence recently saw the release of its first full-length trailer. As tends to happen sometimes, I fell behind and am just now getting around to sharing the subtle, engaging trailer that previews the movie that’s somehow kept Scorsese’s interest for more than twenty-five years. While the director has been working on his various Leonardo DiCaprio-starring films (Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street), Silence was still stewing in the back of his brain. Finally, the trailer dropped, and early reviews have already started rolling in. Will Silence sit atop Scorsese’s resume as the masterpiece he’d hoped it to be? Was it worth the twenty-five-year wait? Only time will tell.

Watch the trailer for Silence and check out the first poster for the movie after the jump.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING trailers remind us Peter Parker is still a kid

First Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers swing in and look promising

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel’s highly anticipated Spider-Man standalone film, finally swung in last night courtesy of Jimmy Kimell Live! The tone is less bombastic than previous Marvel ensembles, which is to be expected, but there’s a nice hint of coming of age and an unwritten Birdman joke in there somewhere. Personally, I’m not frothing at the mouth like some fans, but the movie looks like it could be the (third) rebirth of Spider-Man that finally sticks. Who knows what kind of witchcraft and deals with the devil went on behind closed doors for Marvel to finally get their hands on the property. Regardless of the behind-the-scenes canoodling, filmgoers are grateful.
