FATMAN trailer sees Mel Gibson’s grisly Santa eluding a hitman

Walton Goggins hunts down Santa Claus in first Fatman trailer

Say what you will about Mel Gibson.

Now, imagine him as Santa Claus hunted by a hitman hired by a kid who received coal for Christmas. Sound like something you might be into regardless of how you feel about the actor?

The first trailer for Fatman just dropped, and that’s exactly what we get. No sugar coating. No tongue-in-cheek humor. Just a straightforward story of a growling Santa Claus and the hitman hired to kill him. Oh, and there’s a subplot about Santa being sub-contracted by the military.

Check out the first trailer for Fatman below:

It’s a shame that Fatman will be dragged through the mud for Gibson’s involvement, because the movie sounds solid on paper. The actor’s past will likely haunt him to the grave.

That said, Gibson is kind of a poster child for redemption in that he’s had a hand in giving actors like Robert Downey Jr. a second chance. Personally, I’m more worried Gibson is losing his spark and just isn’t as entertaining to watch anymore. Did you see Force of Nature?

Here’s the plot synopsis for Fatman if the movie still has you curious:

To save his declining business, Chris Cringle, also known as Santa Claus, is forced into a partnership with the U.S. military. Making matters worse, Chris gets locked into a deadly battle of wits against a highly-skilled assassin, hired by a precocious 12-year-old after receiving a lump of coal in his stocking. ‘Tis the season for Fatman to get even, in the action-comedy that keeps on giving.

Again, Fatman is solid on paper. Here’s hoping the movie is tons of seasonal fun.

Fatman stars Mel Gibson, Walton Goggins, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Shaun Benson, and Chance Hurstfield.

Fatman is currently scheduled to hit select theaters on November 13, 2020, but that could change given the state of things surrounding movie theaters. Look for it On Demand and on Digital November 17, 2020.
