World War Z

Loosely (and that means extremely loosely) based on the book by author Max Brooks, World Warz Z sees humanity overrun and transformed by a zombie outbreak. Brad Pitt takes on the axe-wielding, gun-toting action star role in this better-than-expected summer blockbuster

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Monsters University

Billy Crystal and John Goodman are back as monsters Mike and Sully in this prequel staged in college. Watch as the pair meet, compete, and evolve their scare tactics with a cast of colorful co-eds of all shapes and sizes surrounding them.

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

Want to see once-Hobbit Elijah Wood in a first-person slasher film? Of course you do, and Maniac promises to be a unique experience both in seeing Wood pull a horrific turn and the aesthetic choice the film takes in its first-person presentation.

Here’s a film synopsis via Fandango:

Elijah Wood steps into the role made iconic by Joe Spinell in this reboot of the 1980 horror film featuring an artistic style that takes you into the killer’s POV. When murderous L.A. mannequin-store owner Frank (Wood) meets attractive artist Anna (Megan Duffy), his psychotic impulses threaten to take away the one thing he cares about most.
