Green Goblin and Doc Ock are back in first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer

The rumors are true, and Spider-Man fans are losing their minds. The first trailer for the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped this week. Did you watch the trailer in its leaked form before the official one dropped? Are you one (or many) of the already 355+ million views? Watch it again for good measure.

Check out the first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer below:

Peter Parker’s identity has been revealed, and the pressure is too much for the web-slinger. So, what does he do? Asks Doctor Strange to make it all better. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff happens, and that’s the premise for Far From Home in a nutshell.

The trailer is already making waves for a few different reasons. Firstly, it set a record for most-viewed trailer in a 24-hour time period with more than 355 million. The previous record holder was Avengers: Endgame. Secondly, the trailer confirms what rumors and set photos have hinted at: fan-favorite villains (and likely heroes) are returning for this movie.

With the opening (unraveling? combining?) of the multiverse, No Way Home sets the stage for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It does so in style by bringing back characters like Tobey McGuire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men as well as villains like Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, Lizard, and a yet-to-be-revealed sixth member of what fans are expecting will be the Sinister Six.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

As of right now, the IMDb for Spider-Man: No Way Home says the movie stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Angourie Rice, Tony Revolori, Benedict Cumberbatch, J.K. Simmons, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Fox, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, and Hannibal Buress. That cast list will likely expand, but there’s also a good chance some secrets will be saved until the movie’s release.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
